1 Day Left, Meister Votes Early

January 27, 2010

With only one day of early voting left, Jacob Meister, Democrat for U.S. Senate, went to the polls to cast his vote, and encourages others to do the same.

“There is only one day left and we don’t have to wait until Election Day to make a statement about the kind of leadership we want in Washington,” Meister said. “This election is about our priorities as Illinoisans. It’s about what we want and need.”

Meister voted at the Truman College, an early voting site on Chicago’s north side. When asked why he chose to vote at Truman College he said it represents one of the key tenets of his platform, continuing and vocational education.

“Voters young and old have responded well to my 20/20 Vision and plan to create sustainable jobs,” Meister said. “But no one more than student voters; they understand that I have a plan to not only create the jobs they will need to make a living, but reform our education system to help them acquire the skills they need to get those new jobs.”

Meister encouraged voters of all ages to vote early, quipping as he left Truman College, “If nothing else it beats waiting in line.” Early voting ends at 5 p.m. tomorrow.
