Jacob Meister to run as Democrat for Illinois' U.S. Senate Seat

On Tuesday, Sep 8, 2009, Jacob Meister announced his intention to seek the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Roland Burris. Earlier this year, Sen. Burris announced he would not seek another term in office. The primary election will be held on February 2, 2010 and the general election will be held on November 2, 2010. News of Jacob's announcement was carried in dozens of newspapers around the country.
